Learning Guitar Should Be Fun!

We teach kids, teens (9–15), and adults of all ages. Whether you're a complete beginner picking up a guitar for the first time, or an adult who always wanted to learn, our goal is to make every lesson exciting and rewarding. From the very first session, we focus on playing songs you actually like, building confidence, and developing a lifelong love for music. Plus, we offer guitar refresh and basic setup services to help suitable guitars feel comfortable to play.

Hi, I'm Louis LAN!

I've been playing and learning the guitar since 2004. Over the years, my passion has grown across acoustic playing, fingerstyle techniques, teaching students, and even leading guitar clubs!

My absolute biggest goal is to bring the joy of music to everyone. Whether you want to strum your favourite pop songs or learn complex fingerstyle melodies, I'm here to guide you.

1-on-1 Lessons

Personalised tutoring designed specifically for beginners. We move at your pace, focusing on proper technique, basic chords, and playing your favourite songs in a supportive, fun environment.

Group Lessons

Learning is better with friends! Our small group lessons are a fantastic way to learn rhythm, playing together in time, and getting comfortable making music in a relaxed, team-oriented setting.

Guitar Rentals

Not ready to buy your own instrument yet? No problem! We offer a high-quality instrument rental programme so students can borrow a perfectly sized, well-maintained guitar to practise at home.

Guitar Refresh & Basic Setup

A guitar that is hard to play makes learning frustrating. We offer restringing, cleaning, basic action adjustments and setup checks to help suitable guitars feel comfortable to play. Major repairs are assessed and quoted separately.

Guitar Refresh & Basic Setup

For standard 6-string acoustic & fixed-bridge electric guitars

  • Inspection, clean & fretboard conditioning
  • Restringing & tuning
  • Truss rod relief check/adjustment and minor action adjustment, where appropriate

Results depend on the individual guitar — very low action cannot be guaranteed on every instrument. Major repairs, fret work, new nut/saddle, electronics, structural issues, 12-string and Floyd Rose guitars are quoted separately.

What to Expect in Your First Lesson

We keep things simple, relaxed, and fun!

Get Comfortable

We'll show you how to properly hold the guitar, use a pick, and position your hands so playing feels natural.

Learn Your First Chords

No boring textbook theory. We jump right into learning the basic shapes you need to play real songs.

Play to a Beat

By the end of lesson one, we'll be jamming! You'll strum along to a steady rhythm and make actual music.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use or rent a guitar?

Yes. You can use a studio guitar during your lesson. Student Practice Guitar Rental — from $10/week. Available to current lesson students only. Deposit, minimum rental period and terms apply.

How long is each lesson?

Each lesson is a full 1 hour long. We highly recommend our 6-session starter pack — by the end of it, our goal is for you to be able to play and sing a full song!

What styles of music do you teach?

We primarily focus on acoustic guitar. You'll learn acoustic strumming (perfect for singing along to your favourite tunes) and beautiful fingerstyle techniques.

Where do lessons take place?

We offer lessons in Mt Wellington, online, or at your home. A travel fee may apply for home visits outside the local area.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may forfeit that session. We understand that life happens — just let us know as early as possible via WhatsApp!

Can I get a refund on the 6-session pack?

If, after your first lesson, the package is not the right fit, please let us know within 7 days. We will refund unused lessons at the casual lesson rate.
